Jane Fisher paintings, while figurative in composition, at their essence capture a feeling. The freedom of being mid-air in a dive, pride after a swim, nervousness before the rodeo. “The ideas for my paintings emerge as emotions. My task is to turn those emotions into images.” Fisher freezes time with her brushstroke. She allows us to connect with her subject. Her imagery, while transcendent, is realistic yet allows us to escape to another world.
